Diagnosed at 13 Months Old, Coco Is Raising Awareness in the Best Way!

Coco loves traveling, exploring outdoors (especially parks), arts and crafts, and playing with his toys. He also has his own YouTube channel— FunBoy CoCo, which we think is pretty awesome! What makes his channel so awesome? Well, in addition to Coco being absolutely adorable, his channel explores his life with type 1 diabetes.

Coco was diagnosed when he was just 13 months old, and has been living with the condition for nearly 4 years. That’s 12,942 finger pricks, 1,644 injections, 582 pump site changes, and 156 sensor changes before the age of 5!

While Coco dislikes changing his CGM sensor and alternating his pump site (we don’t blame him), with the help of his amazing mom, Michelle (and a little bit of “magic ice cream”), he’s doing a fantastic job of managing his diabetes!

Coco’s dad, Robert, recently shared a video with us that Michelle and Coco made to raise awareness for diabetes. Check it out, and don’t forget to let us know what you think in the comments below.

We’re pretty sure you’ll agree that Coco is one brave little boy!
