Diabetic Danica and Superbetic: “My Diabetes Is Not Your Diabetes”

At this point, you’re probably aware of the fact that we really love Diabetic Danica and Don, AKA: Superbetic. They both have diabetes, and they’ve both chosen to use YouTube as a platform to discuss their condition, to raise awareness, and to talk through important issues that people with diabetes face every day. What’s not to love?

Well, recently, we got an extra special treat when the two paired up in Washington D.C.! While touring the nation’s capital, the two type 1’s conducted a little experiment. To demonstrate just how differently diabetes affects each person who suffers from it, they continuously tested their blood glucose levels before and after eating and drinking different food and beverages, as well as doing various activities.

They begin by comparing their numbers both pre- and post-Starbucks Frappuccino. While you’ll have to watch the video to see how it turns out, and where they go next, we will say that we love this! It’s such a great example of how even though you’re part of a really incredible community of people who are going through many of the same things you are, your condition is unique to you. Your body is unique, and therefore, your reactions to different things are unique.

This is such an great lesson in how important it is to establish a management plan that is unique to you!

Take a look, and don’t forget to let us know what you think!
