DBSGGODonationsThanks to your generous donations, GreaterGood.org was able to team up with International Playthings to give the Florida Camp for Children and Youth with Diabetes a grant for $2,000!

Over 130 campers attended a Teen Weekend Camp Program this past January at Camp Winona in Deleon Springs, Florida. The initial use of the funds from the grant went towards purchasing over 150 toys that were used in the camps arts and crafts program.

“This was helpful because not only did they (teens) receive a gift but we also saved on costs of arts and crafts supplies,”said Amy Soileau, Outreach Director for Florida Camp for Children and Youth with Diabetes. “The remainder of the grant will be used at our Bring a Friend Weekend for Elementary age campers April 12-14 at Rotarys Camp Florida in Brandon, Florida. Approximately 50 campers will attend. We are also hoping to squeeze use for our Pee Wee Summer Camp for ages 6-8, also held at Rotarys Camp Florida.”

Let’s give ourselves a pat on the back for giving a child living with diabetes, a chance to make memories with children just like them!

Florida Camp for Children and Youth with Diabetes (FCCYD) was incorporated in 1970 by dedicated individuals and physicians to provide diabetes management education and psychological support to youngsters with insulin dependent diabetes.
