We’ve said time and time again: diabetes is a difficult condition to manage. You have to do it all day, every day, and there are so many unexpected things that can affect your numbers, such as stress, sleep, and even being sick.

Then there are the things we’re more than aware of, but remain difficult to manage each and every day, such as food and exercise. While for people who don’t have diabetes, watching what you eat doesn’t seem that difficult. All you have to do is avoid the foods that you know are going to raise your blood sugar. Right?

There’s a lot more to it! It’s about more than just avoiding those foods because nearly everything you eat has some sort of effect on your blood glucose levels. Moreover, no one wants to spend their days weighing and measuring every single thing they eat, literally or figuratively.
