“MODY!? But Are You Type 1 or Type 2?”

If you have diabetes, you’ve most likely been faced with some pretty ridiculous misconceptions of what the condition is like. From remarks about what you can and cannot eat, to what a person with diabetes looks like, to wondering if you have the “bad kind” of diabetes, you’ve probably heard a whole range of incorrect ideas about what the disease is and how it affects your life. Sometimes these are hurtful, but sometimes they’re downright hurtful.

It’s important that you know you’re not alone. And while your experience with diabetes is unique to you as an individual, the idea of people misunderstanding what it means is a fairly universal thing encountered by people suffering from diabetes.
