Type 1 Delaine Wrigth has been managing her diabetes with healthy foods and regular exercise. But her exercise regiment isn’t your average day at the gym. After a trip to the Caribbean and experiencing a flying trapeze rig, Delaine came home in search of somewhere she could enjoy her knew activity. Connecting with retired Cirque Du Soleil performers she signed up for lessons and is now a performing aerialist.

Watch as Delaine describes how this different activity affects her diabetes and how she monitors and manages it while she performs. Exercise on the trapeze is considered a anaerobic exercise and increase blood sugar levels versus aerobic exercises that lower blood sugar levels.
