“But You Don’t LOOK Diabetic!”

Bill (AKA 1 Happy Diabetic) believes that a positive attitude is extremely important, especially when it comes to having diabetes. But what happens when people’s (often silly) misconceptions of the disease challenge your ability to be optimistic? Well, I think, judging by the video below, The Happy Diabetic would say you’ve just gotta laugh it off!

In it, Bill gives his comedic take on people who say, upon learning he has diabetes, “But you don’t look diabetic!” When faced with this (awkward) statement, Bill wonders whether he should take the sentiment as a compliment. Ultimately, he settles on the idea that he must find a way to use the statement to his advantage.

Watch Bill talk about being a confident person who doesn’t accept pity just because of his condition. Whether you have diabetes or know someone who has diabetes, we can all learn something from Bill’s positive outlook on life!

Take a look, and let us know what you think in the comments below!
